Subject The topic of the resource Although a building on this property was illustrated in the 1908 Souvenir, no building was recorded on the 1912 Sanborn map. The existing masonry building dates to about 1918 when the owner was Thomas A. Hitchcock. By 1927 the building was a movie theater with a small store in the NE corner. It was known as the Gem Theater when John Davidson sold the lease to J. Ward Spillman in May, 1933.
